Sadly there are not many regulations and animals must suffer these terrible conditons.
Q:Why are animals’ rights important? A:Animals are living things too, which a common fact some frequently forget. Without rights, animals will be mistreated even more than they already are. It is important to protect animals considering they help the ecosystem function just as much as humans do. The way nature is set up, humans cannot survive without animals and vice vera. So, if we hurt the animals species, we are also harming ourselves in the process.
Q:Are there currently any laws set up to protect animals? A:There are not many, but there are a few that do help ensure the safety of animals. In 1960, the Animal Welfare Act was passed to protect the performing animals. The AWA said all exotic animal owners must treat their animals properly or face severe punishment. Another law was passed saying that hunters cannot set steel jaw traps with the purpose of catching big game. This is because the traps are barbarous and cause the animal to suffer a slow and painful death. Dog fighting was also made illegal, but is still very common.
